Phirima Game Ranch is an unspoiled African game ranch nestled in the heart of the Kgalagadi District, or Kalahari Desert, situated in southern Botswana. Phirima is the Tswana word for “the place where the sun sets,” which is an accurate description of the spectacular sunsets we experience in this part of the Kalahari Desert. The farm is situated in the southwestern part of Botswana, about 30 kilometers from the southern boundary of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and about 80 kilometers due south of Mmabuasehube National Park. The farm boasts diverse scenery, ranging from sandy dunes, which provide for a breathtaking 360-degree view of the surrounding area, to grassy areas, pans and areas densely populated with beautiful trees. Spectacular Camel Thorn trees are also in abundance, accentuating our picturesque skyline.

What makes the farm even more spectacular is the opportunity to view our beautiful and bountiful game around every twist and over every dune. At nighttime, you will be able to experience another magnificent sight, the glorious night sky. At Phirima, the clarity and abundance of stars is not obscured by city lights, allowing you to view the stars the way they have been for a millennia, breathtakingly beautiful. The farm's dimensions are about 19 kilmeters x 10 kilometers, allowing our game 16,500 hectares of grazing. Phirima boasts a wide range of indigenous wild animals, including Gemsbok, Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Eland, Roan Antelope, Sable, Tsetsebe, Giraffe, Springbok, Steenbok, Duiker, Ostrich, Brown Hyenas, Jackal, Baboon, and Honey badger.

We have introduced many new species to Phirima to increase diversity, including Giraffes, Impala, Waterbuck, Zebra, and Warthog. Some of Botswana’s more exotic wildlife has also been spotted on Phirima, such as free roaming lions, leopards, and cheetahs, who have dug their way into Phirima’s sanctuary. During 2012, four lions and two leopards roamed the Phirima lands. Phirima Game Ranch gives you the opportunity to experience African beauty, unspoiled and boundless. So if you want to experience nature in its truest form, Phirima Game Ranch is where you need to be.
